Quality of the network connection comes down to:
- Responsiveness (how much lag you experience), and
- Reliability (whether the connection stays up and remains good).
Investigating the radio environment side gives us a deeper look, with key factors: signal strength, interference, SNR, channel use, and more.
Now, Hamina and Orb are combining forces to cover both sides of the equation:
- Hamina measures Wi-Fi radio environment quality.
- Orb measures actual internet experience.
Orb is a new internet experience monitoring app and platform that is built to help users understand not just raw speed but the quality of their internet experience. Unlike traditional speed tests that capture a momentary snapshot, Orb runs continuous lightweight, background measurements to provide insight into how your connection performs over time.
Orb reduces internet experience to one simple number, the Orb Score (0–100), based on lag, responsiveness, and other key metrics. Put simply, an Orb Score over 80 is considered good, while over 90 is great.
Hamina has now integrated Orb monitoring and the Orb Score into Hamina Live, the real-time network analysis, troubleshooting and remediation product. Hamina Live is available for Hamina Planner Plus subscribers. The real-time network analysis is supported with leading enterprise networking systems, such as Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst Center, HPE-Juniper Mist, HPE-Aruba Central, Ruckus, Extreme Networks and Arista.
Hamina Live: Real-time Wi-Fi and Network Quality Testing
Hamina Live helps analyze, monitor, troubleshoot and remediate enterprise wireless networks with 3D, AI-assisted, real-time (how many buzzwords can you fit together?) visibility into network quality and bottlenecks.

With the new Orb integration, Hamina Live now provides real-time network quality analysis, as measured by the end user device (phones, laptops, etc.). As always, advanced signal coverage, interference and capacity details are also provided. Most importantly, Hamina provides a red/green summary of "does it work, and if not - why".
The Orb integration to Hamina Live will be available by the end of October, 2025, free of charge for all Hamina Planner Plus users.
